Religious Spots


Baitul Mukarram Mosque
Baitul Mukarram Mosque is the Largest Mosque in the capital city Dhaka and it is the national mosque of Bangladdesh. Located at Purana Paltan east of Bangladesh Secretariat and north of Dhaka Stadium. It is a three storied and construct after the model of the Kaba Sharif. The inner decorations of this mosque is very attractive and costly a long lawn, garden and rows of fountains to the south and east. The mosque is on a very high stage. On the east is a vast balcony that is also used for prayer and Eid jamat. Below There is a beautiful shopping center in the ground floor of the building.
Other famous Mosques of Dhaka city are the seven Domed Mosque (17th century), Star Mosque (18th century), Chawkbazar Mosque and Huseni Dalan Mosque. This is why Dhaka is known as a city of mosques.
Dhakeshwari Temple

Dhakeshwari Mondir (Temple) The name Dhakeshwari is also related with the basis of the name Dhaka. This is the oldest Hindu temple in Dhaka City. Dhakeshwari Mondir (11th Century) located at the junction of the old part and new part of Dhaka, The beautiful Temple premises is another attraction of the tourists.


There are some beautiful Churches and Buddhist Temples are in the city area.
