Sundarban is the world largest mangrove forest, where grows one kind of beautiful trees name Sundari. The name Sundarban may have been following from the Sundari Trees. Sundarban's beauty lies in its exclusive natural surrounding. The forest lies in the vast delta on the Bay of Bengal formed by the super confluence of the Padma, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers across Saiyan southern Bangladesh. The seasonally-flooded Sundarbans freshwater swamp forests lie inland from the mangrove forests on the coastal fringe. The forest covers 10,000 square kilometers of which about 6,000 are in Bangladesh. It became inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage suite in 1997. The Sundarbans is estimated to be about 4,110 km, of which about 1,700 km is occupied by water bodies in the forms of river, canals and creeks of width varying from a few meters to several kilometers.
Sundarbans meaning beautiful forest is the natural environment of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger. There is much more wildlife here than just the exceptional Royal Bengal Tiger. Most importantly, mangroves are a transition from the marine to freshwater and terrestrial systems, and provide vital habitat for various small fish, crabs, fiddlers crabs, hermit crabs, shrimps and other crustaceans that adapt to feed and shelter, and reproduce among the tangled mass of roots, known as pneumatophores, which grow upward from the anaerobic mud to get the supply of oxygen. Fishing Cats, Macaques, wild boars, common Grey Mongooses, snakes, Foxes, Jungle Cats, Pangolins, spotted deer, monkey are also found in abundance in the Sundarbans. There are crocodiles in the water of the surrounding rivers and varieties of beautiful birds are on the green trees. Land and streams here meet in many novel manners, Wildlife presents many spectacles. No surprise, you may come across a Royal Bengal Tiger swimming across the streams or the crocodiles basking on the banks of the river. The Sundarbans is intersected by a complex network of tidal waterways, mudflats and small islands of salt-tolerant mangrove forests. The interconnected network of waterways makes almost every corner of the forest accessible by boat.

In Bangladesh tourism, Sunderban plays the most important role. A huge number of foreign sightseers come to Bangladesh every year to visit this unique mangrove forest. Besides, local tourists also go to visit Sundarbans every year. The Sundarbans has also been enlisted among the finalists in the New Seven Wonders of Nature.There are so many tourist spot in Khulna Division.
